Description

Niacin supports the functioning of the skin, nerves and digestive system and is also key for converting food to energy.

Additionally niacin is also helpful when too much methylfolate is taken as niacin binds to methyl groups and also increase glutamine breakdown.

Seeking Health Niacin supports:

  • Healthy moods
  • Detoxification
  • Healthy circulation
  • Joint mobility
  • Skin health
The human body cannot store niacin so its important to get adequate amounts of this vitamin daily.
The lozenge form of this product allows for rapid release into the bloodstream.

Niacin Flushing: This formula contains niacin. When taken on an empty stomach, a healthy response to niacin supplementation may include mild blushing, warming, or tingling of the skin. This can appear on the ears, face, arms, torso, or occasionally on the legs. Commonly referred to as a "niacin flush", this harmless response normally dissipates within an hour. It is related to niacin's role in vasodilation (widening of blood vessels). Vasodilation leads to better circulation, capillary flushing, and increased blood flow to the surface of the skin. To minimize or prevent flushing, consider taking this supplement with food or in divided doses.

Consult with a healthcare professional before use if you are using antibiotics, cholesterol-lowering drugs, blood pressure medications, alpha inhibitors, or other medications. Niacin may cause a "flush" feeling including tingling, feeling warm, blushing, or turning red (usually on the face, ears, neck, or chest). This reaction is more common for individuals who have not used niacin-containing supplements before, or for those who are sensitive to niacin. It usually subsides in a few minutes to a few hours, depending on the individual. You can reduce your likelihood of experiencing that reaction by eating a meal before or very shortly after taking a supplement containing niacin, drinking plenty of water, and making sure that your dose is appropriate. It may be best to start out with only a portion of a serving and gradually work your way up to your desired dose, allowing your system to acclimate to the niacin. We recommend that you consult with a healthcare professional for help determining the best dose of niacin for your individual needs and that you talk with your practitioner about any side effects your experience while using niacin.
