Amla is a berry that has long been used traditionally in Ayurvedic medicine. Amla was used for bowel health, longevity, immunity, energy and optimal health and wellbeing. Due to its traditional use for bowel health, Amla is thought not to have the bowel tolerance issues that some other forms of vitamin c have.
Amla berries are loaded with nutrients including antioxidants, calcium, zinc, B vitamins, iron and magnesium. Each Amla berry has the equivalent vitamin C of two whole oranges!
Oxidative stress caused by impaired antioxidant activity or a higher generation of free radicals can lead to poor immune function. One of the most important antioxidants in the body is called Glutathione. Its job is to protect you from free radicals, heavy metals and peroxides. Research has shown that Amla may support healthy levels of glutathione and support the brain against cellular free radical damage.
